The Somesville Walking Bridge Is located on the "Quiet Side" of Mount Desert Island. Regardless of the season, the bridge is a beautiful subject. This particular fall day was crisp and clear, with lots of color in the leaves and a beautiful reflection in the pond.

Taking photographs is a huge part of my travel day. Naturally, I use my phone to document the experience, but I also have the professional gear to get images suitable for framing.

My family started coming to Maine about 25 years ago and fell in love with the natural beauty and quintessential New England charm. We have come back every year. Now have our own cottage so that we can spend more time here. One of my favorite parts of Maine is how devoted the year-round community and the summer residents are to preserving the traditions and limiting growth. When I return, it always feels like I never left.

Mount Desert Island, where we spend most of our time, is home to most of Acadia National Park. Although it is one of the smallest parks, it is one of the most visited. The Rockefeller family chose the island because of the mountains’ proximity to the sea. You can hike and sail on the same day and still have time for popovers!

As a photographer, I am very spoiled to live in the very place where photographers come from all over the world to capture iconic images and host seminars. Although it is always beautiful, my favorite time of the year is fall because I love the drama of the yellow and red leaves.
