Lisbon Photo Tour
Melinda and I took a city tour with Miguel from Lisbon Photo, and we highly recommend it. We visited hidden courtyards and all of the must-see photo ops. It was a great day. Many of my photographs from Portugal were taken on the tour.
We brought too much gear because we walked all over the city for about 10 hours. It was good to have a wide-angle lens and a 24-70. I did switch back and forth, but the tripods stayed in the bag.
Reflections
One of the new tricks we learned was how to take reflection pictures with a cell phone. We practiced every time we found a puddle. It’s amazing how little water you need! The key is to hold the lens as close to the water as possible.
Arsty Images
After I returned home, I spent some time processing the images and came up with some special effects. Some photos were perfect for black and white, and for others, I took most of the color out but left some portions to pop with a splash of color. I also used brush stroke filters to give some textural interest.

Portugal Travel Guide
Portugal is full of photo opportunities, over-flowing with palaces, cathedrals, and ancient ruins. Driving along the rocky coast brought us to the westernmost point in Europe, with waves that attract surfers from all over the world.
