This was our night shoot and it rained, so good and bad, because the rain cleared the crowds. We were in the jungle and pretty high, then took a tram up to the top. There are steps to the top, but that was not going to work with a bunch of gear in a drizzle. It was crowded, and when we got to the top the sky was gray and the views were hazy, not a great start. The actual temple area is very compact, and I should have used my wide-angle lens, but alas, the good ideas always come later… it’s called experience.
One of the activities is to walk around the center of the the temple and say your prayers, and some people were doing that. I set up my tripod and got some of my favorite blue light pictures before the skies opened up. When the monks began their chanting, I used the opportunity to take pictures on the opposite side of the complex, which was completely deserted, and the more it rained, the emptier it became.
