Marcy wanted a photo of her boys, so we decided that the inlet would be the perfect place. So we picked up some pizzas and headed over. It was hopping ~ there are tons of people in the evening, even on a weeknight. Scotty & Noah were willing participants for a short window, and I never got them in good light… you can see the difference lighting makes when you look at Jamie and Jessie in golden light.
Joe confronted two divers with a spear gun, who drove up, jumped in, killed a grouper, and were carrying it to their car. This is obviously illegal, and he took pictures for Florida Fish and Wildlife officers. Whereupon one of the divers threatened to punch him in the face, which would have involved other law enforcement agencies… never a dull moment.
I set up several poses and were we’re wandering west toward the bridge to DuBois, when I lost their interest. I tried to get them on the bench where there was great light, but it was too hot, and too bright, and they were done.
We then focused on the wildlife. There was an enormous manatee swimming among the people, and no one seemed to notice. We tried to point him out to the swimmers, but no one paid any attention to us.
