Including a pier in a photo is an excellent way to add leading lines to your composition. I haven’t gone to Juno since I got the new camera, so this was the week. As I was driving, the sky wasn’t the vivid red I was hoping for, but the Sahara Dust helped me out, and I got some very cool colors. I didn’t need to do much bracketing because I like the contrast of the shadows and the silhouette effect.
There were actually a lot of people there, but when I came back and looked at my shots, I was surprised how deserted it looked. Joe noticed that there weren’t even footprints in the beach picture.

Sunrise at Coral Cove
It is super-convenient to have a sunrise location close to home. This is a popular place to watch the sun come up with lots of opportunities to create compositions with the rock formations.
